Creswell Busted Mugshots
Creswell is one of Washington County's incorporated towns. Still, it has no police department of its own. The county materials contain no town arrest log, daily bulletin, or booking-photo page. Plymouth runs the only municipal department the county identifies, and the Sheriff covers everything else. That says nothing about how much law-enforcement activity happens in Creswell. It only means the records live at the county level.
The 2020 Census counted just 207 residents, the smallest of the three incorporated places. Anyone held locally goes to the Washington County Detention Center in Plymouth. The public court record, not the initial charge, supplies the later disposition.
Verify the stage: detention answers for current county custody, the Sheriff handles booking-record requests, and eCourts or the Clerk shows public case events when available.
Where Creswell Busted Mugshots Appear
No official Creswell booking feed has been verified. No county live roster either. Regional news and historical indexes can offer leads, but they are no substitute for the local custodians of the records.
| Channel | Photo? | Status | Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Washington County Detention | Not promised | Official | Call 252-793-1107 for current custody. |
| Washington County Sheriff | Request if held and releasable | Official | Call 252-793-2422 for record direction. |
| eCourts and Clerk | Not a booking-photo feed | Official | Review public case events and disposition. |
| Albemarle Observer | May show a story image | News | Regional coverage, not a roster. |
| Mugshots.com | Historical city filter | Third party | Creswell index, unofficial and stale. |
The county-wide roster, feed, and records-request path is laid out on the Washington County booking page. One caution applies. A city label on an index does not prove current custody.
Busted in Creswell: Find the Record
Creswell’s records route is county-based. Follow the custody question first, then the legal record:
- Call the Washington County Detention Center at 252-793-1107 for current local custody.
- Call the Sheriff’s Office at 252-793-2422 to ask who receives a booking record or photo request.
- Give the full name, approximate date, and arresting agency if known. Ask for an existing record.
- Search the eCourts Portal by exact name or case number and select Washington County.
- Read later case events and disposition. A charge at booking is not a conviction.
No publication time, photo policy, or release-removal schedule has been verified for Creswell or the county feed.
Creswell Records Path
No Creswell police records unit has been verified. No town booking procedure either. For an existing county booking record or photo, ask the Sheriff which office receives such requests. Chapter 132 does not force an agency to build a new list from separate files. The county publishes no booking-photo fee and no fixed response time, so expect none to be guaranteed.
- Describe the existing booking or intake record sought.
- Include name, date range, and any known case or booking number.
- Ask whether the photo is held, releasable, redacted, or part of a case file.
- Request a fee estimate and response timing before relying on delivery.
Creswell Crime Coverage
Roanoke Beacon covers Washington County, including the Plymouth, Roper, and Creswell area. Albemarle Observer's regional logs have mentioned Creswell calls, among them a repossession item, but a log entry is not proof of an arrest or booking. WITN may pick up a serious or unusual event once it clears the regional news threshold.
The Mugshots.com Creswell filter is historical third-party material. Busted Newspaper may preserve older county entries too. Neither serves as a current official photo source. More outlet detail sits on the Crime News page.
The Albemarle Observer law-enforcement log is where Creswell call items have appeared. The capture below shows WITN's regional news front page, the broadcast outlet that picks up larger Creswell events.
This source capture shows regional log coverage, not a Creswell booking result. Confirm custody with detention and court status through the Clerk or eCourts.
Creswell Court Follow-Through
The public eCourts Portal is the next record after a Creswell booking. Search by exact name or case number. Select Washington County. Then review the case events, hearings, and disposition. Questions the public search cannot answer may go to the Washington County Clerk at 252-791-4000.
A first appearance or bond event is not the final legal result. Charges can be reduced, dismissed, resolved by plea, or decided at trial. Juvenile, sealed, confidential, protective-order, and unreturned-warrant matters may not appear online. A missing search result cannot establish that no law-enforcement event occurred.
A regional news story and a Creswell booking record are two different things. Keep the facts straight. The source, the date, custody status, and any court disposition each need to stay separate.
State, Federal, and Old Records
Use NCDAC only if the person entered state prison, probation, or parole. The BOP locator covers federal inmates. ICE ODLS covers immigration detention under its own limits. None of them answers a current Washington County county-jail custody question or fills a Creswell booking-record request.
The Sheriff's retention schedule covers criminal-history records, identification photos, inmate incarceration records, and inmate list reports. Some identification photos that never made part of a case file may qualify for destruction after three years. Case-file status can change that schedule. No Washington County booking-photo transfer to the State Archives has been verified. A newspaper archive may hold a story, but not a complete photo record.
Creswell Booking Photo Limits
Start with the agency that actually holds the file you want. Chapter 132 can open a path to inspection or copies. Yet it cannot force a town to build a new arrest list that does not exist. N.C. Gen. Stat. § 15A-502 governs how law enforcement takes booking photos for its own records. It says nothing about posting them on a public website.
When you write to the Sheriff, be specific. Include the full name, a date range, the arresting agency if you know it, and the exact record type you want. Ask whether a photograph sits in a case file, an identification series, or an inactive record. Request the legal basis for any redaction along with a written fee estimate. No Creswell photo policy, roster schedule, or guaranteed removal process could be confirmed.
An expunction adds another layer of work. The Clerk, the Sheriff, any private publisher, and the search engines may each need their own separate step. A state court order does not wipe out a regional news article on its own. Keep that difference in mind when you track down an old booking photo.
Labels matter here. Creswell is small. No verified municipal feed exists. A regional log can mention a call that never led to a booking. A third-party city filter may keep an old image alive even when county custody has ended. A WITN or newspaper photograph might show a scene or an agency picture rather than a true intake photo. Each is a different kind of record, and each deserves its own description.
Custody status also shifts the right source. State prison, probation, and parole fall under NCDAC. Federal inmates appear in the BOP system. ICE runs its own immigration detention search with its own limits. For public court events, turn to the Washington County Clerk. For a county booking record or photo, the Sheriff remains the starting point.
Preserve the original date, source, and record type with anything you find. If a court order later changes a state record, send that order to the proper custodian first. Then work through the publisher and search-engine processes on their own. There is no confirmed removal timetable for Creswell.
A call log is not a booking log. An Albemarle Observer entry may describe a service call, a property matter, or another response where no one was booked. Read it as regional reporting rather than a county roster. When a story says a person went to detention, confirm current status with the detention office. Check the legal history through Washington County eCourts.
That habit keeps a Creswell search anchored to the right agency and date. An old photo, a shared name, or a missing online entry is never the whole answer.
