Washington County Contacts

Washington County Busted Mugshots is a private reference resource, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, release a person, post bond, or pull an official booking record. Contact the agency that holds the record.

Local Detention and Records

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is the practical starting point for a booking record or photograph request. The detention number is for a current custody question. The Sheriff’s published business line can direct a records request, but the county does not list a separate records-unit number or booking-photo form.

For a general message, use the county contact page. It says the form is for general questions, not criminal-activity reports. Emergencies belong with 911.

Which Office Holds the Record?

Use the following routing list when the question is specific:

  • Current Washington County custody: Detention, 252-793-1107.
  • Existing county booking record or photo: Sheriff’s Office, 252-793-2422, with a narrow Chapter 132 request.
  • Plymouth arrest-agency contact: Plymouth Police, listed at 124 E Water Street and 252-793-9101.
  • Public case events or disposition: eCourts or the Washington County Clerk at 252-791-4000.
  • State prison, probation, or parole record: NCDAC offender search.
  • Federal or immigration custody: the BOP locator or ICE locator.

What to Put in a Request

Ask for an existing booking or intake record and, if maintained and releasable, the booking photograph. Include the full legal name, approximate date range, arresting agency if known, and the record type. Ask for electronic delivery, any statutory withholding or redaction, and the duplication, mailing, or special-service fee before a charge. North Carolina’s public-records law does not require the Sheriff to create a new “everyone arrested” list.

The county publishes no fixed booking-photo turnaround. Inspection may be free, while lawful copy or special-service charges can apply. Keep a copy of the request and ask for the expected response date.

Safety and Record Limits

Do not use the communications center as a roster or photo line. The county’s Communications / 911 page lists 252-793-4141 for non-emergency dispatch and operates around the clock. It is not a records custodian. A booking or arrest is an accusation, not a conviction. Ask the Clerk or eCourts about the later case result.
